Description
Development and reform project to certify passivhauss of a single-family house in La Floresta.
This avant-garde project in terms of form and concept, aims to go beyond aesthetics and achieve a building with negative energy consumption. The use of materials such as laminated wood from forests managed in a sustainable way in its structure and recyclable materials such as glass allow to drastically reduce the CO2 footprint already in its construction.
The passive systems used for this project are cross ventilation both vertically and horizontally that allow ventilation through the use of strategically placed fans and keep the cube at a comfortable temperature in the hottest summer months quickly and efficiently.
To promote air conditioning ( heat & cool), a Canadian geothermal or well system will be used which can cool in summer and heat in winter with a high performance index. The electricity consumption of the mentioned system would come from photovoltaic panels installed on the roof of the building.
The collection of rainwater on the roof and facades will be promoted, as well as the capture of ambient humidity at night for filtration and for daily use.
Eco-efficiency: both passively and actively, the systems to be used promote low energy consumption and can even generate energy surplus at the end of the year, reaching a negative CO2 footprint.
The reform project contemplates the conversion to achieve a self-sufficient house in at least 90% of the consumption of resources for services (electricity and water).
The expansion of the first floor, in which the existing spaces are rethought to give more surface without changing its initial approach.
Then the construction of a second floor that will house the master bedroom with access to the roof garden with a total of 256 m2 built plus 25 m2 of parking.
Actual state:
.
In a privileged area due to its orientation and location near the Collserola park and public transport, this house currently measures 160 m2 on a 460 m2 plot.
It was renovated and expanded in 2004.
On the ground floor, it currently has an independent studio / apartment of 50m2, with a full bathroom and a private garden of another 60 m2.
The first floor consists of a large “open space” that includes a kitchen, dining room, and bathroom. The slate floor is cool in summer and warm in winter, for the coldest times of the year it equips a wood stove and air conditioning when the heat is intense in summer. From the living room there is access to a 45 m2 terrace with cuperized pine wood flooring where you can enjoy its south orientation and magnificent views of Montserrat.
